Announcement of the formation of the Arghiri Emmanuel Association

We are pleased to announce the formation of the Arghiri Emmanuel Association, attached to the website www.unequalexchange.org.

Arghiri Emmanuel was a theorist and activist, popularly known for writing Unequal Exchange and less known for being a Greek communist militant in the Civil War and an advisor to Patrice Lumumba's liberation movement in the Congo.

Emmanuel passed away in 2001 and ever since his remaining papers have been stored away. The Arghiri Emmanuel Association aims to create a physical and online archive that will serve as a comprehensive resource for scholars, researchers, and students of Emmanuel's theories and contributions. Through the digitization and curation of his works, manuscripts, interviews, and other relevant materials, we strive to make his ideas easily accessible to a global audience.

We also have plans for a book series and a conference on Unequal Exchange and the works of Emmanuel.
